GreenVETAfrica learners programme kicks off

We are thrilled to announce a significant milestone in our mission to advance sustainable waste management solutions.

The GreenVETAfrica Vocational Training program launched in Nigeria and Ghana in March 2024, with invaluable support from our esteemed partners – Pan-Atlantic University, LAWMA, and the Institute for Industrial Technology in Nigeria; Remseyer and Whizzy Academy in Ghana.

Our initial admission phase, initiated in November 2023, yielded an outstanding response, with 147 enthusiastic applicants from Nigeria and Ghana by February 5, 2024. Following rigorous assessment, we admitted 50 participants from Nigeria and 63 from Ghana. Notably, 67% of our admitted participants in Ghana were women, representing a remarkable stride towards gender parity, while 27% were women in Nigeria.

In our commitment to enhance gender inclusivity, especially in Nigeria, we launched a supplementary admission process on March 19. We are delighted to announce the commencement of our second cohort in Nigeria, comprising 52 students, with 44% of them being women. Their journey towards becoming proficient waste management practitioners begins on April 15, 2024.

We sincerely appreciate all stakeholders, from applicants to partners, for their invaluable contributions to the program’s success. Together, we are driving positive change in environmental stewardship and community empowerment.
